Nothing radical here, just my stock 90 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. I bought it in Iowa in November of 2002, virtually rust free with 124,000 miles on it. However her first Michigan winter was very hard on the body and now is in desparate need of restoration. She's got a healthy 360 V-8 with about 75,000 miles on it, backing it up is a TF727 and NP229 original as far as I know. The drive train have been very trouble free, runs great, always starts (temps as low as -18F), both the tranny and transfer case shift smoothly. The only repairs to the drive train have been regular maitainance, a complete exhaust, and the exhaust gaskets, which unfortunatly has been a recuring problem. I had some minor problems with the tail gate which have been repaired, and an electrical gremlin in the dome light circut that has yet to be located. My biggest problem right now is RUST a common plauge in this area of the country. Over all it's a great truck and has treated me well. Change Album... Then remove the rest of the surface rust, cut out and replace the rocker panals and lower quarter panals. Next would be to remove all the stainless trim except around the windshield, trim around the tailgate window, and over the licence plate. Remove the roof rack and fill in it's holes. Then paint the truck black and probly wet sand to get rid of any orange peel. I want to put plain steel wheels on it with baby moons. I still haven't decided on wether to go with 15 or 16 inch wheels with stock size on the 15's or something like 235/85/16's on 16 inch wheels which will determine if I return my truck to stock height or a 2 inch lift. I won't go any higher than 2 inches though this is a every day drive 99% of the time and hits mild trails very rarely. In any case springs are needed on all four courners to get rid of the wag sag, which I figure to be at about 2-3 inches lower than stock. Under the hood I want to upgrade the airconditioning by replacing any worn parts and adding an additional larger condenser infront of the radiator support, this is to enhance the cooling abillity of the R-134a. Then I want a better cam, edlebrock intake, and four barrel carb to give it alittle better acceleration. This will of coarse be incorporated with a rebuild. The tranny will probly get a rebuild at the same time due to it's high milage. I also plan on adding an oil cooler also. Dual fuel tanks is also on the list, and putting the spare tire inside using a tire carrier from an older Wagoneer/ Cherrokee that mounts on the left wheel well. I would also like to replace the front bucket seats with a bench seat re-apolstered in tan leather. Of coarse with any project changes and additions will occure. I don't see this project happening over night either due to time and money. Want to showcase your own ride at Jeeperz? It's free and easy!
